The Fregate Island Foundation was approached by the SCCI (Seychelles Chamber of Commerce and Industry) to donate books to the library in Anse Royale Primary School on Mahe and we decided right away to take on this request.
There are about 550 children enrolled in the school and it needed both educational and fictional literature. That is why we ordered 100 new books which mostly are about exploring nature, learning about birds, animals and adventures.
It was amazing to see how happy and grateful the children were to receive the books. They could not wait to go back to the school library. It was also interesting to have conversations with them about wildlife and nature and see how eager they are to gain new knowledge.
We hope that these books will encourage more children to learn about our beautiful world and make a difference in their lives!
