Routine check on the corals after north west monsoon

With the strong winds and heavy rains, that the north west monsoon brought us, the sea was quite rough at times and so it was challenging to access our coral restoration site during the month of January.

After the sea calmed down, our team took the chance to visit the site and take a resume of the damage after the storms.

Some corals got detached from the and some of the structures themselves were damaged due to strong waves and surge.

Our conservationists concentrated on planting back the corals they found on the sea floor, to give them a chance of survival.

How is coral gardening done?

Pick a fragment, find a hole or suitable location, plant the coral and make sure it is fixed on the substrate.
